1.What is a solar charge controller?

1)A charge controller, also known as regulator, is an integral part of most solar systems over 15 watts.

2)The 25 Amp Charge Controller will prevent solar panels of 250 watts or less from overcharging your battery.

3)Solar panel connects to charge controller then to your 12V battery unit or 12VDC appliance.

4)For AC appliances or different voltages, need to buy separate inverter or adaptors!

2. What is MPPT?   Intelligent Chip - Squeeze 30% more juice out of PV!!


   
MPPT stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking.
            

     The electrical power in a stand alone PV system is expensive; generated power should be delivered to battery as much as

     possible. In colder temperature, panel produces more power. The conventional charge controller can not deliver this extra

     power to the battery.  If using a MPPT charge controller in a system, the PV module can generate more power by neglecting

     battery voltage, and it can deliver the maximum power. Typically, in the MPPT charge controller, the generated voltage step

     down, and at the same time current step up at the same ratio.    The MPPT regulators are useful in the winter months, in the

     cloudy or hazy days or when the battery is deeply discharged.

   With this device, you can charge a 12V battery from a higher voltage PV panel.

3)LED Digital display  - Indicate battery's voltage and charging current.

     When Red Float LED light is on - The battery reached it's factory pre-set float voltage 14.1 V!
    
Charging current of the battery will drop slightly to maintain this float voltage!

     When a yellow LED light is on  - DC load is turned on and is drawing power from the battery.

4)Battery Temperature sensor

   Feedback to the microchip to properly maintain power charging.   When the battery is warm,

   the float voltage will drop and current increase!

   
5) Integrated screw terminal connections for quick and easy installation

6) Night time battery discharge back to PV is prevented by diode.

7)Low Voltage Disconnect to prevent Battery overly discharged!

    When DC load is drawing power from the battery, there is an automatic sensor to disconnect the battery

    such loads when the battery voltage reached 12.0V or Current to 15 amps!   It will allow battery to charge

    up from the PV power and when battery reaches back to 12.V  then it will get reconnect to the load.

8)Reduces system maintenance


   This will assure trouble-free solar charging and longer battery life. Great for small and medium size PV

   Systems!
