We will provide update information about Ceramic Additives very soon, there are now a second company claimed ownership of this product.

In the near future, we will update this web page to introduce you Radiance E-025 with Emittance rate of 0.23 and Lo/Mit-2 Emittance rate of 0.23 which meets the IRCCS requirement and satisfy ASTM criteria for an interior coating intended to reduce radiant heat transfer to and from the coated surface.

Ceramic Paint - NASA's Spin-off Technology

A radiant heat reflecting, insulating, thermal barrier coating

Ceramic insulating paint is a  high strength ceramic "microspheres". Each single ceramic microsphere is so small that it looks to the naked eye as if it is a single grain of flour, ( slightly thicker than a human hair).

insulating ceramic microsphere makes paint insulate

The microspheres in the insulating ceramic have compressive strengths up to 60,000 psi, a softening point of about 1800° C., and they are fairly chemical resistant, with low thermal conductivity of 0.1 W / m / Deg.C.
B removing all the gas inside which created a vacuum. Physics law states that nothing can move by conduction through a vacuum, since it represents an absence of matter. In effect we have a miniature thermos bottle... a microscopic hollow vacuum sphere that resists thermal conductivity and reduces the transfer of sound.

insulation paint film The painted surface dries to a tightly packed layer of the hard, hollow "microspheres",  The tightly packed film reflects and dissipates heat by minimizing the path for the transfer of heat. The ceramics are able to reflect, refract and block heat radiation (loss or gain) and dissipate heat rapidly preventing heat transfer through the coating with as much as 90% of solar infrared rays and 85% of ultra violet-rays being radiated back into the atmosphere.

Ceramics are completely inert and in coatings provide improved fire resistance, protection of coated surfaces from harmful UV rays, repulsion of chewing insects and increased durability of the coating due to the hard ceramic finish. Ceramic filled paint is easier to clean and lasts far longer than conventional paint pigments.

Additional Benefits of Insulating Ceramics

Hard ceramics provide longer lasting durability which means you paint less often.
Exceptional stain and scrub resistance
Does not change the application, or adhesion of paint.
Ceramics are Non-Toxic & Fire Resistant
Helps deaden sound
Use on Interior or Exterior
Environmentally Friendly
Reduces heat and cooling loss!
A hard smooth surface that resists corrosion, abrasion, mold and mildew.

Because of the coating can keep the heat from the house to reduce Air Conditioner's Electricity bill in Summer and also keep the heat from escaping out of the house to reduce gas heater bill in Winter.   With all these energy saving, there is a Cool Roof Rebate - Southern California Edison will help to pay for your "Cool Roof" installation up to $0.10/sq.ft

Consumers' Price:

- A quart of Ceramic Additives enough for one gallon of any water, oil based paints. (One 14 oz (weight) package is recommended for each gallon of house paint.)

Stir and mixed it well and Please remember, it takes at least two coats to have a good results!  The ceramic additives can work with any paints, it just need a carrier to paste them to the surface and form a shinning sheen for protection & blocking buffer for sound and heat!

Price is $12/quart!   Bigger quantity,  please send email to sales@symmetryco.com for a price check!

Direction for use:

The additive should be gradually stirred into the appropriate size container of paint.

One bag of 1 quart of Ceramic Additive is good for 1 gallon of paint.

Do NOT try to mix this package directly into your container of paint, as it will not all fix.   Get a second or larger container to use for mixing purposes   Simply pour your paint into the larger sized container and mix in the Ceramic Additive while stirring slowly to avoid clumping of the additive.  Make sure to completely mix all of the Ceramic Additive into your paint!  Always stir your paint for a minute or two prior to commencing painting if the paint has been sitting for more than 2 hours since last used.

Note: Recommended Roller Size 1/2" to 3/4: nap depending on surface texture.

Spraying: Remove all filters Tip Size 0.019 - 0.024 or larger depending on viscosity of paint.

The Ceramic Additive will leave a mild texture (suede look) to the surface to which it has been applied which will help hide defects in a wall surface.

We recommend 2 coats of paint containing the insulting ceramics to insure complete uniform distribution of the insulation " beads".

Note:  If needed add up to 1 pint of water per gallon of paint or reduce with Acri-Flow to help the paint to flow better!

SAFETY DATA:  Ceramic Additive is a very environmentally friendly blend of organic ceramic microspheres, which are non-toxic.  Inhalation of large amounts of this product in its free powdered state could cause respiratory irritation and a dust mask should be worn if working around large airborne concentrations of this product prior to mixing with paint.  If eye irritation occurs flush eyes with water and if problems persist consult a physician.
